Nigerians have reacted regarding the integrity of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following its announcement of an investigation into allegations that some of its officers accepted bribes from Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky.
The controversy started after social media influencer Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, posted a viral video alleging that Bobrisky had paid N15 million to EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges against him.
Although Bobrisky faced trial only for naira mutilation, the claims have fueled public reactions about the agency's transparency.
Furthermore, a voice recording included in the discussion indicated that Bobrisky did not serve his prison sentence as expected but instead was housed in an apartment outside the prison, allegedly with the approval of prison authorities.
These developments have generated commotion online as Nigerians raised critical questions about the EFCC's effectiveness in combating corruption in the country.

Many Nigerians have been waiting endlessly for the resolution of the Yahoo Bello case. The prison service, lawyers, and other respected agencies have been implicated. According to the allegation, it seems Bob Risky never actually went to prison. This could be one of the biggest frauds uncovered so far,” Ben Samuel expressed.

Yahaya Bello dey there now for months, una no fit carry am, even with all the evidences,” TobyWrites expressed.
“Your assurances of thorough investigations often end in deafening silence. There's a pattern here: promise action, maybe a few arrests for show, then... silence. The public deserves more than just the promise of investigation; they deserve transparent, conclusive outcomes,” Light stated.
“Shame! Just a big shame on this agency! Unless everyone is brought to justice, no Nigerian will ever trust in your service again. What nonsense!!!?
