Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has denied the bribery allegations brought against him by social media influencer, Martins Otse, also called VeryDarkMan.
The crossdresser said, “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison… I didn’t pay any EFCC money, which is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information,” in an Instagram post on the morning of Wednesday, September 25.
EFCC launches investigation into bribery allegations involving Bobrisky
Recall that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) released a press statement launching an investigation following allegations that Bobrisky paid N15 million to some of its officers to get money laundering charges against him dropped.
Dele Oyewale, EFCC's Head of Media and Publicity, disclosed this in a statement released on the night of Tuesday, September 24.
According to the statement, Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan have been invited to the Lagos Directorate to aid in the investigation of the claims.
The statement read, “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken swift and decisive action regarding the alleged bribery claims made by Idris Okuneye (aka Bobrisky) against some EFCC officers.

“In response to these allegations, the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an immediate investigation.

The EFCC has guaranteed a full investigation of the accusations and is committed to sharing the results with the public. If the claims are validated, they would jeopardise the agency's integrity and its fight against corruption.
“The EFCC wishes to assure the public that the allegations will be thoroughly investigated and the results made public accordingly.
EFCC invites Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan to assist in investigation
“To facilitate this investigation, the Commission hereby invites both Okuneye and Martins Vincent Otse (aka VeryDarkMan) to present themselves at its Lagos Directorate to assist investigators in uncovering the alleged bribery.
According to Oyewale, the EFCC has been a leader in tackling financial crimes across Nigeria, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to its core values of integrity, professionalism, courage, and collaboration.
“Throughout this process, the Commission remains committed to its core values of integrity, courage, professionalism, and collaboration at all times,” EFCC stated.
