Best of Nollywood (BON), one of the highly anticipated film awards platforms in Nigeria, has finally released the nominations list ahead of its 2024 award show. 

For this year’s nominations list, three Nollywood titles, Jagun Jagun, The Weekend, and Adire got the highest nominations for the upcoming award show. The Weekend got a total of 6 nomination nods, Jagun Jagun had 11 nods and Adire secured 4 nominations. 

The BON is a film award show set aside to celebrate Nigerian movies and filmmakers, by recognising their talents and efforts put into the promotion of Nigerian and African cultures in the media, locally and globally.

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi was revealed as the 2024 host for The Best of Nollywood (BON) and the award ceremony will take place at the Sugar Factory Film Studio, Kwara State, on November 24.

FULL LIST: ‘The Weekend’ bags 16 nods as most nominated film for AMAA 2024

Earlier, TheRadar reported that the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has shared its highly anticipated nominations for its 2024 edition and Nollywood film, The Weekend leads the pack. 

For this year’s AMAA ceremony, which also marks its 20th anniversary, The Weekend bagged 16 nominations, including Best Film, Best Director and Achievement in Cinematography. 

The nomination announcement was made on Wednesday, October 2, and hosted by Vimbai Mutinhiri, who set the stage for the awards night scheduled for November 2, 2024.
