One show, multiple millionaires, with countless controversies.

But here's the twist many Nigerians don't like to admit: winning BBNaija doesn't always guarantee long-term success.

Some winners turned their fame into empires while others slowly disappeared from the spotlight despite walking away with life-changing prizes.

And if you've ever argued with friends about who had the most successful reign as a winner, this list might settle the debate, or start another Twitter war.

Let's rewind through every BBNaija winner since the show began and see where they are today.

BBNaija winners till date

1. Katung Aduwak (2006) Season 1

Before Twitter fan wars, Instagram trends, and record-breaking voting numbers, there was Katung Aduwak.

The inaugural season of Big Brother Nigeria introduced viewers to housemates such as Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Gideon Okeke and Francisca Owumi, who would later become familiar faces in Nigeria's entertainment industry.

Among them all, Katung stood out and eventually emerged as the show's first-ever winner.

At the time, nobody could have predicted that the reality show would grow into one of Africa's biggest television franchises. Yet Katung's victory laid the foundation for everything that followed.

2. Efe Ejeba (2017)

When BBNaija returned after a long hiatus, expectations were sky-high.

The See Gobe season featured strong personalities such as Bisola Aiyeola, Tboss, Debbie-Rise and Bally, all of whom developed passionate fan bases during the competition.

But Efe's authenticity connected with viewers in a different way.

His now-famous phrase, "Based on logistics," became part of everyday conversations, while his humble background made him relatable to millions of Nigerians.

As the competition grew tougher and the finale approached, Efe's support only became stronger, eventually carrying him to victory.

3. Miracle Igbokwe (2018)

The Double Wahala season delivered enough drama to last a lifetime. From the intense rivalry between Cee-C and Tobi Bakre to the widely discussed relationship involving Nina and Miracle, viewers had plenty to talk about throughout the season.

While many contestants grabbed headlines through controversy and emotional confrontations, Miracle often appeared calm and focused.

By the end of the season, he had outlasted fan favourites such as Cee-C, Tobi, Alex Unusual and Nina to claim the grand prize.

4. Mercy Eke (2019)

The Pepper Dem season was loaded with strong personalities, including Mike Edwards, Omashola, Frodd, Diane Russet and Seyi Awolowo. Yet when the dust settled, it was Mercy Eke who made history.

Known for her confidence, resilience and refusal to back down during confrontations, Mercy captured the attention of viewers throughout the season.

As the competition intensified and fan favourites continued to fall, she kept pushing forward until she became the first female winner in BBNaija history.

5. Laycon (2020)

Season 5, tagged Lockdown, arrived at a time when millions of Nigerians were spending more time indoors due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among a cast packed with memorable personalities like Erica, Nengi, Ozo, Kiddwaya, Dorathy, Vee and Neo, Laycon initially looked like an unlikely winner. While other housemates dominated conversations with their relationships, fashion and dramatic moments, Laycon quietly built one of the strongest fan movements BBNaija had ever seen.

Week after week, his supporters turned voting into a mission. By the time the finale arrived, the self-proclaimed underdog had transformed into the season's biggest star, defeating some of the most talked-about contestants in the show's history.

6. Whitemoney (2021)

The Shine Ya Eye season introduced viewers to memorable personalities like Liquorose, Pere, Angel, Emmanuel and Cross.

Yet from the early weeks of the competition, Whitemoney managed to separate himself from the pack. Whether he was cooking meals for fellow housemates, entertaining viewers with his humour, or navigating house politics, he consistently remained one of the most popular contestants.

Even as strong competitors like Liquorose and Pere mounted serious challenges, Whitemoney's connection with viewers never seemed to fade. By finale night, his victory felt almost inevitable.

7. Phyna (2022)

Few housemates generated as much conversation as Phyna. The Level Up season featured strong contenders including Bryann, Bella, Groovy, Chichi and Adekunle, all of whom played major roles in the season's biggest storylines.

But Phyna's outspoken personality ensured she was almost always at the centre of discussions. She attracted loyal supporters and vocal critics in equal measure, creating one of the most polarising campaigns in BBNaija history.

When voting closed, however, it was Phyna who emerged victorious, proving that public opinion online does not always reflect voting results.

8. Ilebaye Odiniya (2023)

Winning a regular season is difficult, but winning against returning stars who already have established fan bases is an entirely different challenge.

That was the task facing Ilebaye when she entered the All Stars house alongside former finalists and fan favourites such as Mercy Eke, Cee-C, Pere, Cross, Alex Unusual and Adekunle.

Many viewers expected one of the bigger names to walk away with the prize.

Instead, Ilebaye gradually built momentum and survived one eviction week after another before emerging as the surprise winner of the season.

9. Kellyrae (2024)

The No Loose Guard season came with fresh twists, unpredictable alliances and plenty of dramatic moments.

Housemates such as Wanni X Handi, Onyeka, Anita, Nelly and Victoria ensured there was never a dull moment in the house. Amid the chaos, Kellyrae quietly built momentum.

While other contestants dominated headlines for different reasons, he focused on maintaining consistency and strengthening his connection with viewers.

That strategy paid off as he survived every challenge and ultimately walked away with the grand prize.

10. Imisi (2025)

Season 10 arrived with enormous expectations. Viewers were eager to see which new housemate would join the growing list of BBNaija winners, and the competition quickly became one of the most discussed seasons on social media.

Throughout the 10/10 season, Imisi distinguished herself through her personality, resilience and ability to remain relevant in a house filled with strong competitors.

As alliances shifted and fan favourites battled for survival, she steadily built support among viewers.

By the finale, that support was enough to secure one of the biggest victories in the franchise's history.

So, who is the greatest BBNaija winner ever?

That's the debate that never ends. Is it Mercy Eke for breaking barriers, Laycon for creating one of the strongest fan movements in reality TV history, or Whitemoney for his popularity inside and outside the house? Perhaps Ilebaye, who defeated an entire cast of returning stars?

Whichever side you're on, one thing is certain.

The BBNaija winners list is more than a collection of names. It is a timeline of Nigerian pop culture, internet trends, unforgettable moments, and personalities who kept millions of viewers glued to their screens year after year.
