Since its inception in 2006, Nigeria’s biggest reality show, Big Brother Naija (BBN) has produced numerous winners and stars alike.  

The reality show is known for being a stage to help housemates showcase their talents mostly in the entertainment sector, particularly in regards to music and movies. 

To earmark the star-making power of the franchise show anits ability to act as a funnel of talent for the Nigerian music industry, TheRadar spotlights all housemates, who have ventured into music in particular order from Season 1 (2006) to Season 9 (2024). 

BBNaija housemates who became artistes

  • Efe

Michael Efe Ejeba, known as EfeMoney, was the winner of BBNaija season 2 edition featuring 22 contestants. Efe won the show to clinch the N25 million cash. Before the show, Efe had already established himself in Plateau as a rapper and his win further expanded his fame. Some of his songs include Based on Logistics, which was his popular slang, Babaloke ft Oritsefemi and Warri ft Olamide. He also has three albums to his credit. 

  • Laycon

Olamilekan Agbeleshe popularly known as Laycon won the 2020 edition of the BBNaija show with the grand prize of N85 million. Being a singer and singer Laycon after the show pursued his music career. He had collaborated with DJ Neptune and Joeboy on the popular hit song, Nobody, which was the song of the year. Laycon has two albums, Shall we Believe and Who is Laycon?

  • Bisola

Bisola Aiyeola had once mentioned that music was her first love despite being an actress. Before being a runner-up at BBNaija she had emerged in 5th place in the popular music competition, MTN Project Fame. In 2018, she made a comeback to music with her songs Controlla, Boda Luku, and Luchia amongst other songs. 

  • Debbie Rise 

Debbie Rise is another housemate from the Big Brother Naija show who put out an album, R.A.G.E in 2018. Before the reality show, she had made a name for herself in Nigerian Idol as a dancer, singer, rapper and guitarist. 

  • Teddy A 

Teddy A, who is a full-time artiste, came into the Big Brother house with one mission, which was simply to push his music on a bigger stage. The housemate after the show not only achieved his aim but also left with a wife, Bam Bam, a fellow housemate he connected with on the show. Teddy has an album titled Alpha Vol.1 and recently released a single, Down. Some of his other songs include Balance, African baby and Welu

Kellyrae sets record as first married man ever to win BBNaija  

Earlier, TheRadar reported that Housemate Kingsley Oritsetimeyin, popularly known as Kellyrae, one of the DoubleKay pair, emerged as the winner of Big Brother Naija (BBN) ‘No Loose Guard’ edition. 

His latest win makes him the first married man ever to win the show after defeating seven other finalists to win an N60 million cash prize, an SUV, and other rewards.
