Actress and Disc Jockey Dorcas Fapson, popularly known as Ms DSF, has shared a disturbing experience where her money went missing at a Lagos hotel.
In a video posted online, DSF revealed that she had recently visited Bali and stayed in four different hotels without incident. However, upon returning to Nigeria, her luck changed.
DSF explained that she never allows hotel staff to clean her room when absent, but on this particular day, her Lagos hotel room was cleaned while she was out. Upon returning, she discovered that her money was missing.
When she reported the incident to the hotel managers, they informed her that they could not take any action until they reviewed the CCTV footage.
She stated:
“Why is it that I just got back from Bali, I stayed in four hotels, in four beautiful hotels. Every time I go out, I would leave my money in my bag, and when I come back, they would have cleaned everything and my money would still be complete.
“Whether it is 10k or 100 dollars, whatever it is, I always meet my money in the same place and nobody touches it. Why is it that when I came to Nigeria, I stayed in the Lagos Continental Hotel, and then the one day I forgot to put the ‘do not disturb’ sign, because I don't let people clean my room unless I am there because they steal.
“I went out for like two to three hours and got back to see my room cleaned, I went straight to my bag and to my surprise, my dollars were gone.
“I complained to the manager and they told me they need to check the CCTV while there is no CCTV in the room.”
She further expressed her confrontation with the cleaner and confusion about what to do about the issue. She stated,
“When they brought the cleaner, I said to her, the money you took from this bag, I know where the money is and how much, like just bring it back.
“Why are Nigerians like this? I am. Having two minds, like should I arrest everybody or do I free.. For me it is the violation, like you went through my stuff.”
This is not the first time Fapson has been in the spotlight; she's a talented actress, DJ, and presenter known for her role as Sophie in MTV's Shuga.
