Mercy Chinwo is the first daughter of a family of five in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She was born on September 5, 1990. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics and Communication Studies from the University of Port Harcourt.

Chinwo started singing in the children’s choir of her church at the tender age of eight years and later moved to the adult choir.
