- Mohamed Salah has received a €500,000-per-week offer from PSG as his Liverpool contract nears expiration
- Liverpool offered Salah a two-year contract worth €400,000 per week which is less than PSG’s lucrative deal
- Salah remains focused on winning the Premier League but faces mounting pressure over his next move
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has reportedly been approached by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with a lucrative offer as speculation over his future at Anfield intensifies.
The Egyptian star’s contract with the Reds is set to expire at the end of the season, and negotiations over an extension appear to have stalled, leaving the door open for a potential blockbuster move.
According to sources from the French capital, PSG has already tabled a staggering three-year contract worth €500,000 per week for Salah in an attempt to secure his services. The French giants are said to be looking for a marquee signing to replace Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid last summer.
While Salah remains focused on Liverpool’s title push, the 32-year-old admitted in a recent interview that negotiations with the club are far from complete. Liverpool has reportedly offered him a two-year extension worth €400,000 per week, an impressive figure but still short of PSG’s bid.
Speaking after his impressive performance in Liverpool’s 5-0 win over West Ham United, Salah addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding his contract talks,
“We are far away from that, I don’t want to put something in the media and people start saying stuff, but nothing really has moved on. Now I am focused on the team and hopefully, we win the Premier League.”
Salah’s performances this season have underlined his value, scoring 20 goals across all competitions and adding numerous assists. His latest display against West Ham saw him score and set up two goals.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot also praised Salah’s contributions,
“Mo and the word extraordinary is something I have heard a lot in the last six months, he truly deserves this. He doesn’t surprise us. We know what a player he is and what he is able to do.”
However, despite Salah’s brilliance, PSG’s staggering financial proposal could present a serious dilemma for Liverpool. With the club’s renewal terms reportedly lower than what the French side is willing to pay, Salah must decide between continuing his Premier League legacy or pursuing a fresh challenge in Paris.
Saudi Arabian clubs also remain interested in Salah and could provide another alternative if he leaves Liverpool. Their previous bids have already shown how highly they value the Egyptian star, but PSG’s offer currently leads the race for his signature.
