President Bola Tinubu departed Abuja for Beijing, China, on Thursday, August 27 for a high-level diplomatic mission.
The official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and exploring economic opportunities.
On Tuesday, August 27, the Presidency announced that the president’s itinerary includes visits to prominent Chinese firms such as Huawei Technologies and the China Railway and Construction Corporation.
These engagements aim to accelerate the completion of the Ibadan to Abuja segment of the Lagos to Kano high-speed rail line, among other significant projects.
According to a statement issued by his special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the president’s trip includes a brief layover in the United Arab Emirates before arriving in China, where he will meet with President Xi Jinping and discuss cooperation between the two nations.
President Tinubu will also hold meetings with Chinese business leaders to promote investment and trade between Nigeria and China on the sidelines of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

“President Tinubu will have a brief layover in the United Arab Emirates.

Tinubu approves 300% salary increase for judicial officers at federal and state levels
Earlier, TheRadar reported that Senator Basheer Lado, the President's Special Adviser on Senate Matters, disclosed that the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved and signed into law the Judicial Office Holders Salaries and Allowances Bill on Tuesday, August 13, in Abuja.
The National Assembly had earlier enacted a 300% salary increase for judicial officers at both the federal and state levels, which was signed into law by President Tinubu.
Meanwhile, Lado praised the president's signing of the bill as a significant milestone, highlighting his steadfast commitment to enhancing conditions for Nigeria's workforce.
