National Assembly enacted 300%  increase for judicial officers

In March, the President sent a bill to the House of Representatives, titled: ‘A Bill for an Act to prescribe the salaries, allowances, and fringe benefits of judicial office holders in Nigeria and for related matters,’ aimed at amending judicial officers'’ salaries.

The National Assembly in June enacted a 300% salary increase for judicial officers serving at both Federal and State levels.

The newly passed bill establishes new annual salaries for top judicial officials: Chief Justice of Nigeria at N64 million, President of the Court of Appeal at N62.4 million, Supreme Court Justices at N61.4 million each, and Chief Judges of the Federal High Court, FCT High Court, and National Industrial Court at N7.9 million each.

Lado appreciated Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Rt. Hon. Abass Tajudeen, and the 10th National Assembly for their pivotal role in passing the bill, now signed by the President, and encouraged Judicial Office Holders to intensify their efforts in delivering swift justice.

“The judiciary remains the hope of the common man and it is hoped that Nigerians seeking justice get it irrespective of their status in life,” Lado stated.
