A viral video by Chinonso Egemba, a prominent Nigerian health advocate and content creator, also known as Aproko Doctor, has sparked nationwide outrage after revealing the deplorable conditions of a Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Nigeria.
In the video, which was posted on Monday, January 25, Egemba expressed concern over the poor condition of the facility, which was meant to serve as a critical resource for the community.
“Our leaders can do better. The primary healthcare centres are the bedrock of our healthcare.
This is not a doctor's problem, it's a Nigerians problem. It's our job to demand for better healthcare,” Aproko Doctor stated.
He noted that the PHC, which should be a safe space for women during childbirth, was in a state that posed significant risks to both mothers and their babies.
Egemba lamented the neglect of such vital healthcare infrastructure and called on government leaders to allocate more resources to PHCs, emphasizing their importance due to their accessibility and proximity to local populations.

“People that run out of the country at every slight opportunity for check up and the medical care of them and their families, neglecting the primary health care centres is something they would do without remorse. Failures !!” Ikuku Nenye Ndu reacted.

“Everywhere in the country bawo, you can’t find anything like in Lagos. The primary healthcare facilities here are better than some general hospitals in some states,” Prince de Lagos stated.
“It's very sad I must say. It's high time time we stop talking about the problems and start taking action on the solutions. It's a holistic problem. Everyone should thinking on how they can make an impact. Regardless of the level they're at,” Chimaobi Onyeike reacted.
“This is so disgusting and disheartening. we actually can’t continue this way anymore. Nigerian government need to do better. What exactly are we enjoying as citizens?” Cleverly stated.
