Four members of the House of Representatives have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), TheRadar reports.
The defectors from the PDP to the APC are:
- Inuwa Garuba (Yamaltu/Deba, Gombe)
- Abdullahi El-Rasheed (Dakku/Nafada, Gombe)
- Mohammed Audu (Karim Lamido/Lau/Ardo-Kola, Gombe)
Additionally, Obika Chinedu, representing Abuja Municipal/Bwari in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), defected from the LP to the APC.
Meanwhile, Adewale Adebayo of Osun State formally joined the Accord Party from the PDP.
The Speaker Tajudeen Abbas read the official defection notices during Wednesday’s plenary session.
The lawmakers cited internal crises within their former parties as the reason for their decisions to switch allegiances.
