Popular TikToker Peller has faced intense backlash for his comments on the Nigerian 30-day rant challenge. The challenge aims to raise awareness about issues affecting Nigeria and concerns about the presidency.

During a live TikTok session, Peller dismissed the challenge, suggesting that participants were more interested in garnering likes than in driving real change. 

He argued that if people truly wanted to make an impact, they should take their grievances to Instagram or even protest in person rather than risk getting TikTok banned.

According to him,

“You said we should rant, but truthfully, you are only doing the rant video to get likes. if you know you want to rant, go to the market, go to Instagram, don't do it here on TikTok. Don't rant here. If they ban TikTok, that is where we'll have issues. Leave TikTok. 

“You are wicked, you want to take away our source of livelihood. Let us leave TikTok, go out instead and protest, take wood, cutlass, I think that would be better. 

“If you keep on ranting for 30 days, it will not change anything, instead, you'll be back in your poor situation.”

Peller's comments have sparked outrage among netizens, who have accused him of lacking education and wisdom. Many believed his youth and inexperience led to his insensitive remarks.

The backlash has been severe, with some users calling for a mass unfollowing of Peller's account. However, some believed he was not wrong voicing out his opinion, and there is an iota of truth in his remarks. 

Reactions to his comments have been overwhelmingly negative, with many criticising his lack of empathy and understanding of the issues affecting Nigerians.

Davido, Peller set new record for most watched TikTok live stream in Africa

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that Afrobeats singer and most followed African artiste Davido alongside Tiktoker Peller have broken a social media record. 

With 389,800 viewers, the Dodo crooner and Peller broke the record for the most-watched TikTok livestream in Africa. 

Peller had earlier shared their surprising collaborative live stream update, which attracted mixed reactions from netizens.
