  • Popular rapper Odumodublvck recently dissed his colleague Jaywon in a recent interview
  • The singer claimed that Jaywon only has one hit song This Year that keeps him relevant
  • Reacting to Odumodublvck’s interview, Jaywon responded to his claims and threatened legal action

Nigerian singer and rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, better known by his stage name Odumodublvck, has recently stirred up controversy by allegedly taking a jab at fellow artiste Jaywon.

Odumodublvck supposedly characterised Jaywon as a "one-hit wonder," suggesting that he is known for only his single successful song This Year, rather than a consistent body of work.

In a recent interview session with popular music platform, Hip TV, on January 22, Odumodublvck talked about his constant banter with Jaywon on social media.

The 31-year-old singer acknowledged that regardless of their banter, he respects Jaywon as his colleague and friend.

Jaywon is my guy. Forget that banter. If I see Jaywon. You know something about Jaywon, I really love him not because of that song which he performs once a year. January 1st.

Is it not true? It is only once a year that he performs it. See because say you be my guy no means say I no go diss you if you diss me. If him call me, I go tell am say baba no be once a year dem Dey call you for show?

He even released his album and dropped This Year again. Brother let it go. How can you say that I’m not all that and you have one song that you released like 14 years ago and you re-released it. He is still my friend.

If I see him, I will hug him because he is a very smart man. As I Dey fire am, e Dey fire me back, Odudumodublvck said.

Meanwhile, Odumodublvck’s recent diss has sparked discussions among fans and industry observers about the competitiveness and dynamics of the Nigerian music scene.

Jaywon replies to Odumodublvck’s diss

In an X (formerly Twitter) post, Jaywon responded to Odumodublvck’s diss and noted that he (Odumodublvck) cannot resist the urge to mention his name to remain relevant.

Odumodu will always mention my name in his interviews because that’s the only way he stays relevant. Even he admits that none of his other beefs trend because they’re not Jaywon. When I said he’s not all that, it wasn’t beef it was just facts. Enjoy yourself, boy.” he said.

In another post, Jaywon also reiterated that his earlier statement about Odumodublvck not being exceptional was a fact.

I can’t stand the fact that Odumodu thinks I’m beefing with him. Yo, get over it and focus on your career, bro. Or is it that you just can’t handle the fact that I’ll always be relevant because of that one single you keep coming for?”

Jaywon further makes legal threats to start suing anyone from henceforth who calls out his name in such a manner.

Dog eats dog industry lol. No matter how Una hate reach. Na me sing that song ‘This year’ and it will stay like that forever and ever. Soon I go start to sue all of Una one by one,” he added.

“OG no be by age”:OdumoduBlvck hails Rema’s intelligence

Meanwhile, earlier, TheRadar reported that OdumoduBlvck expressed his admiration for Rema, while hailing the Mavin signee’s knowledge of the Nigerian music industry.

OdumoduBlvck posted on his official X platform (formerly Twitter) that he enjoyed listening to Rema because of the quality of his conversation despite being six years older than Rema.
