  • ‘Young, Famous & African’ reality TV star Kefilwe Mabote burnt her designer item, citing its negative spiritual influence from her religious belief
  • She warned women about relationships, emphasised the reality of spiritual spouses, and encouraged women to protect themselves from potential harm in relationships
  • Her post further invited everyone to consider the deeper implications of their choices and the spiritual ramifications associated with them

South African author, influencer, and reality TV star from Young, Famous & African, Kefilwe Mabote, has set her beliefs in God to another level, causing a social media frenzy.

Recently, she shared videos of herself burning some of her designer pieces, which attracted many critics who argued she should have donated the items instead.

To address this backlash, she took to her Instagram story to explain her decision with care and understanding.

She posted,
"I've been getting questions about why I chose to burn Versace items instead of giving them away, and I want to take a moment to explain this with care and understanding," she began.

She stated that her decision to burn these items "came from a place of conviction.”

According to her, "the Bible, such things are considered 'accursed' (see Joshua 7:13 for context)."

She further elaborated that the image of Medusa represents a Greek god from the marine kingdom and emphasised and expressed that giving away those items would mean passing on something she no longer stands for.

"As believers, we cannot serve two masters. I can't, in good conscience, transfer things that I know carry deep spiritual implications," she added.

The influencer explained that this journey has taught her about the spiritual realm's legalities, noting,  "what we allow into our lives can give access to things we may not even realize."

She described the designer items as "open doors," and removing them was part of "reclaiming spiritual freedom."

She clarified that she shared her experience "not to condemn anyone but to encourage reflection." She added, "One day, God willing, I will share more of this journey in detail, but for now, I hope this helps answer your questions with love and understanding."

In a now-deleted separate post, she warned the men who have been pursuing her to back off and advised women to be cautious of "destiny destroyers." She wrote, "To those wealthy men with no souls, I am not your candidate! I humbly ask you to stop sending me 'can I get to know you' DMs, assuming I'm the same person you like on TV, which was filmed a year ago, and unsend those messages before I expose you all!"

She continued with a message to her followers: "To my sisters and everyone, I urge you to be spiritually vigilant. Spiritual spouses are real (incubus and succubus). Their assignment is to steal, kill, and destroy. Screen the people you allow into your life with discernment!"

Her remarks highlight the reality of spiritual influences, emphasising that

"life is deeply spiritual, and we often underestimate the consequences of casual relationships." "Sleeping around isn't just physical; it opens doors to spiritual exchanges we don't fully understand," she concluded.

Social media users react to Mabote's spiritual statement

Here are some reactions below;

@kuddyaina commented: “Her reasons are valid, if you try to understand without your spiritual cap on. It won't make sense. May God help us all.”

@nightingale_cosmeticslagos commented: “Her concluding remarks are everything…”

@cyspicy_1 commented: “Wetin concern Christ concern dis one?”

@iamvhikky commented: “This comment section has confirmed it that people don't read

@tiwalope commented: ‘I hope you all understand that not everyone feels comfortable giving away their already worn clothes to others, especially strangers. Life has a spiritual aspect, and I personally wouldn't consider wearing clothes someone else has worn and gifted to me. Buying secondhand (okrika) is a different matter because you're purchasing them, not receiving them as a gift from someone who's already used them.”

@_deagram commented: “She had a valid reason why she burned them, Great.”

@st_dave_7 commented: “Addiction to clout is worst than drugs”

@isle.ofolives commented: “When you find Christ, you burn your idols. You don't give them away, I understand her perfectly”.

@the_burning_one commented: “It's not about the items being designer, The Medusa head symbol is deeply rooted in the occult, wearing items with the head of a serpent is not of God. The Lord also gave me the sane revelation and I began getting rid of my Versace items

@xo,homebody commented: “Truly this world is deep. Common things are not common in the spiritual realm, I pray we have spiritual eyes to see. God bless her

@ohyescynthiaaa commented: “Everyone's journey to spiritual awakening is different, each to their own, I wish her peace.”

@isreal_hairmaster  commented:“Some will mock and laugh, but God saves theose who truly wants to be saved, the secret things belong to God, he reveals some to his children.”
