Afrobeats female singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tem, has broken yet another record with her debut album, Born in the Wild.
The Grammy-nominated album recently became the longest-charting album by an Afrobeats female singer on the Billboard World Albums chart.
Tems’ project made the list of longest-charting albums after spending a total of 27 weeks and ranking 8th among the top 13 albums.
Via an X (formerly Twitter) post on Thursday, January 2, TXT Magazine shared the news of the singer’s latest milestone.
“Tems' Born in the Wild is the longest charting album by a Nigerian female on Billboard World Albums charts (27 Weeks),” it wrote.
This adds to the impressive milestones achieved by the 29-year-old singer and songwriter, who has consistently broken records as an African female artiste.

Prior to Tems’ feat, Nigerian albums have charted on the Billboard World Albums. From Wizkid’s Made in Lagos to Rema’s Raves & Roses, many of these albums have secured impressive spots. TheRadar curated the Top 13 list below:

Global Impact List: Ayra Starr, Tems emerge as Spotify’s most streamed artistes
Earlier, TheRadar reported that Nigerian Afrobeats artistes, Tems and Ayra Starr emerged at the top of the Global Impact List unveiled by popular streaming platform Spotify for the first half of 2024.
Through their songs, these artistes were recognized by the streaming platform. Their songs, according to spotify, have the most listens from outside Nigeria between January 1 to June 30.
Ayra Starr secured the first and second spots with her songs Santa featuring Rauw Alejandro and hit single Commas. On the other hand, Tems took third spot with Love Me Jeje.
