Piece of My Heart by Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogun featuring American singer Brent Faiyaz has won the Outstanding Duo/Group or Collaboration at the NAACP Image Awards.
Wizkid defeated Usher's Coming Home featuring Burna Boy, among others, which was also nominated in the category.
The category also included Gorilla and Flo’s In My Bag, Victoria Monet’s SOS (Sex on Sight), and Gorilla’s Rain Down on Me.
In an X (Formerly Twitter) post, on Thursday, February 20, 49th Street announced the award won by the Afrobeats singer.
“Wizkid and Brent Faiyaz’s “Piece Of My Heart” wins the Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary) award at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards.” it wrote.
Chris Brown’s Hmm featuring Davido was also named the Outstanding International Song at the award ceremony. This marks Davido’s third win at the NAACP Image Awards.
Other notable winners at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards
American singer Beyoncé and her daughter Blue Ivy also secured big wins at the virtual award ceremony of the 56th NAACP Image Awards.
According to Variety, Beyoncé picked up two trophies for Outstanding Female Artiste and Outstanding Album for her work, Cowboy Carter.
On the other hand, Blue Ivy received recognition for her voiceover performance as Kiara in Mufasa: The Lion King.
Also, the Super Bowl recently featured and Grammy-awarded rapper Kendrick Lamar took home the Outstanding Hip-Hop/Rap Song for his smashing diss track, Not Like Us.
