Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck calls for support from Peter Obi for his new album
  • Ahead of his new album release, Odumodublvck has openly urged Obi to support its promotion, reminding him of his past backing during his political campaign
  • The artiste highlighted his vocal support for Obi’s presidential bid and revealed that he even declined an offer to perform at President Bola Tinubu’s inauguration
  • His statement has sparked widespread reactions from fans on social media

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, whose real name is Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, has taken to social media to demand support from Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, ahead of his new album release.

Odumodublvck urged Obi to reciprocate the support he showed him during the last general elections, particularly with the release of his new album, The Machine Is Coming.

In a series of posts on his X handle, Odumodublvck directly called on Obi to promote his upcoming album.

"@PeterObi hello Mr Peter Obi. I support you that year. Oya support me now. Oya do video dey talk The Machine is coming. Abeg. Me and you never ever get problem before. Make e no start now," he wrote.

He followed up with a stronger statement, making his frustration even clearer:

"The time wey I support Peter Obi na with sweat and blood. If he cannot give me a 'common' tweet, then me and am go fight. I no dey hide my mouth. Make una dey talk una own. The Machine is coming"

Odumodublvck was one of the most vocal figures in the entertainment industry supporting Obi's presidential bid in 2023. He referenced his hope that Obi would "save" him in the NATIVE Sound System single "Vex". The rapper also allegedly turned down an offer to perform at President Bola Tinubu's inauguration in May 2023, stating that "they did not do their research.”

In another post, Odumodublvck reminded Obi of his direct beef with the current president.

"@PeterObi I even dissed Tinubu for you. Now because of you, the people are spitting on me and my legacy. Tweet The Machine is coming to rekindle and redeem our friendship, sir. Do not listen to them. Listen to your heart. The Machine is coming.”

He further emphasised his frustration, stating,

"On today's episode of Wage War – the people of Peter Obi vs the Industry Machine. Go and ask around, I have never lost a war. Peter Obi has lost an election. There is only one winner here. Tell that man to promote my album or else I will cut ties with him with immediate effect."

Odumodublvck's posts have sparked a mixed reaction from the public. While some people are praising and supporting him, particularly with the release of his new album, others are criticising him for involving Peter Obi in his promotional strategy.

However, at the time of press, Peter Obi has not made any statement.

“They book him once a year,” Odumodublvck takes a jab at colleague Jaywon

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that popular rapper Odumodublvck recently dissed his colleague Jaywon in a recent interview.

The singer claimed that Jaywon only has one hit song This Year that keeps him relevant.

Reacting to Odumodublvck’s interview, Jaywon responded to his claims and threatened legal action.
