- Ebele Iyiegbu finally broke silence against social media judgments regarding her family's personal life
- The comment comes in the wake of a viral video involving their adopted son claiming to be the next of kin
- Iyiegbu expressed her gratitude for her husband's 50th birthday celebrations and reflects on love and dedication
Ebele Iyiegbu, wife of billionaire businessman Obi Cubana, has spoken out for the first time regarding the recent next of kin controversy involving her family.
Taking to Instagram, she shared a compilation video from her husband’s spectacular 50th birthday celebration, paired with a heartfelt message about the challenges of social media.
In the caption that seemed to be a cryptic message, she began,
"Only on social media do you encounter people sharing your life story as if they know you personally.
“Only here will you learn about your own history from strangers who've never even met you.”
Throwing jabs at some netizens who blamed her for Obi Cubana’s post, she continued,
“And only on social media will you see people blaming wives and mothers because of their own misguided thoughts and evil ideas... because that's who they are,"
Ebele added in a high spirited tone,
"Anyways, I'm still soaking in the celebration of the #50for50 birthday party for Okpataozueora! Like I said before, the entire month of April is dedicated to you, babe. Big thanks to @tsl_thrusamslens for capturing part of my speech. I curated 50 Igbo titles that describe the personality of @obi_cubana; it wasn't easy."
This came after his adopted son, Chidi, went viral on social media after he joined a Tiktok challenge where he vaguely claimed to be the billionaire’s next-of-kin, which led to Obi Cubana's post of his first son Alex.
Reactions to Ebele's comments have since flooded social media.
Netizens react to Obi Cubana's wife's post

Many people like me didn't even know one of their kids were adopted till they did that counter post to the young man's post; and while many will say it was necessary, I believe documents are what matters most and Tik Tok video couldn't have changed anything.”
