Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has addressed her recent altercation with fellow actress Laide Bakare, which took place during the premiere of Eniola Ajao's movie, Owanbe Thieves.
The confrontation attracted significant attention after Eniola Badmus warned photographers to refrain from taking her photos with Bakare because they are not friends.
Bakare accused Badmus of calling her an “animal” and stated that she played a pivotal role in Badmus' rise to fame.
In her first comment since the incident, Eniola Badmus emphasised the importance of unity among her peers in the film industry.
She urged her colleagues to reject jealousy and to focus on collaboration, highlighting that success is not limited and can be shared among all.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, April 15, Badmus stated:
“Life has a way of teaching us that true strength lies not in conflict, but in unity. Though we may have walked different paths and faced moments of tension, I believe it’s time to let love lead.
“There is no need for jealousy when we can all succeed. Your success doesn’t diminish mine, just as mine does not take away from yours. Let us continue to collaborate, to lift each other, and to build something greater than what we could ever achieve alone.
“There’s strength in unity and a future brighter than any victory we’ve pursued alone. Let us avoid conflict, not because we are weak, but because we are wise. Peace is the path to progress, and love is the light that shows us the way.”
Netizens have reacted to her post. While some have responded positively to Badmus' message, applauding her call for harmony in the industry, others have expressed disappointment in her and linked her post to a political ambition.
