“Na anniversary,” Reactions as Odumodublvck’s accident post stirs controversy over old photos

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck caused a stir on social media after sharing news of his survival from a road accident on Tuesday, February 25

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he posted images of himself recovering in the hospital, alongside photos of the wrecked vehicle and the truck involved in the crash.

Fans quickly flooded the post with messages of support, relieved that the rapper had survived the incident. However, the narrative took a dramatic turn when a netizen uncovered that the same pictures had been shared by Odumodu two years earlier, suggesting that the accident had not occurred recently.

An X user @beri_grizou pointed out the discrepancy with a sarcastic comment;

“Bro survived the same accident twice,” with screenshots of the artiste’s post from the year 2023. 

Another user, @ivienzell added,

“Last two years, you survived this same accident at the same location, inside the same car, close to the same trucks and inside the same bush. 

GOD IS GOOD!”

The revelation generated a wave of reactions, with many netizens questioning whether the rapper had misled his fans. Some found humour in the situation, flooding the comments with sarcastic responses and memes.  

Despite the backlash, some fans defended Odumodublvck, arguing that he never explicitly stated that the accident had happened the day of his post. Others, however, criticised him for what appeared to be an attempt to gain attention through old images.
