Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popular as Davido, has described himself as a lucky man for marrying his wife, Chioma Adeleke.
The celebrity couple tied the knot in 2024, hosting a grand affair wedding with politicians, celebrities and other dignitaries in attendance.
In a recent Bootleg Kev podcast on March 27, Davido spoke about his relationship with Chioma and why he thinks he is one of the luckiest men.
The Afrobeats star noted the long period he had shared with his partner and how that helped to build the relationship till date.
“I think I’m one of the lucky ones because me and my partner we’ve been together for a long time prior to the marriage. I was very young like in my third year in college. That's where we met.
“I think I was lucky for us to move in together. I’m talking about eight years before the wedding . Getting married is no joke like you said but the transition from living together. First of all, being good friends and living together,” he said.
According to Davido, Chioma understood when he was touring and she always knew that it was one of his happiest moments.
“Throughout that I was always touring and she always understood, knows it’s one of my happiest moments and what I gotta do to work,” the singer added.
The 31-year-old further touched on their wedding and how grandeur it was in Nigeria at the time like “a holiday.”
“This is a bound union now; we've had a whole wedding and we've invited all these people from across the world to celebrate us.
“The wedding was in Nigeria; it was on some crazy Zamunda shit, mad crazy. It was like a holiday in Nigeria and it was one of the best days of my life. Everybody flew in from all over the world to celebrate us,” Davido added.
