Renowned Nollywood actress and director Funke Akindele has released the trailer for her most anticipated film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, which features a lineup of popular faces.
Everybody Loves Jenifa, set to hit the cinemas on December 13, follows Funke’s previous box office film, A Tribe Called Judah, which was released around the same time.
On Friday, November 15, Funke shared a video clip of the Everybody Loves Jenifa trailer on her official Instagram handle, capturing familiar faces in Nollywood.
“Beyond laughter, lies a story. The adventure, the drama, the thrill…it’s all coming soon. This is just a teaser. Everybody Loves Jenifa is coming to the Cinemas on the 13th December!” she captioned her video.
The short teaser captured a blend of Nigerian culture, fashion, and entertainment, with appearances from Falz, Jide Kosoko, Lateef Adedimeji, Patience Ozokwor, and Nancy Isime, among others.
The soundtrack featured the legendary singer and songwriter Lagbaja, whose music infused it with an African and traditional atmosphere. One of Afrobeat's pioneers, D’banj, also made a special appearance.
Directed by Funke Akindele and Tunde Olaoye, Everybody Loves Jenifa is produced by the Funke Akindele Network.
