  • A video captures Eniola Badmus and Laide Bakare in a tense moment at the ‘Owambe Thieves’ movie premiere, with Badmus allegedly telling Bakare not to film them together
  • The feud between the two actresses dates back to a previous incident where Badmus accused Bakare of making insensitive remarks about her personal life
  • Laide Bakare fired back at Eniola Badmus with a series of posts, including a cryptic message and photos of her outfit to the movie premiere, seemingly shading Badmus

The recent movie premiere of Eniola Ajao’s much-anticipated film, ‘Owanbe Thieves,’ turned into a hotbed of drama as popular Nollywood actress and politician Eniola Badmus found herself in an unexpected altercation with her colleague Laide Bakare.

The event, which took place on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Filmhouse Circle Mall in Jakande, Lagos, was star-studded, attracting numerous celebrities and industry insiders who came together to celebrate the new film.

However, the seemingly friendly atmosphere of the evening soon turned into a public spectacle.

The evening’s festivities included high-energy dancing, with both Badmus and Bakare joining the crowd as Fuji legend K1 De Ultimate provided the soundtrack.

However, tension bubbled beneath the surface as Eniola Badmus seemed visibly upset upon noticing Laide Bakare on the dance floor.

In a video circulating online, Eniola is seen stepping away, visibly disturbed, and later was heard saying in Yoruba, “Don’t film us together, we’re not friends,” as Bakare approached her.

Laide Bakare fired back hard at Eniola Badmus at the event. She said, "Sho orí ẹ yi ni?" (Are you insane?)

Laide Bakare addresses the issue

Following the altercation between the two actresses, speculations arose that the discord between the two actresses is not a new development.

Many alleged that it stems from previous incidents, including an accusation from Badmus claiming that Bakare posted unedited photos of her which attracted bloggers and many derogatory comments.

Bakare decided to make a statement addressing the fallout. She publicly shared a heated chat between herself and Badmus, which was loaded with tension.

In the conversation, Eniola reportedly expressed her feelings about a photo Bakare posted, stating, “The picture doesn't look well and you posted it. What manner of human being does that? Must I be in your picture? Have been calling you and you refuse to pick up. Fuck off. You heard me right. Don't bring your terrible animalistic behavior around me. Stay farrrrrrr. And a lot of bloggers rubbishing me.”

Laide Bakare responded to Eniola's accusations with her own pointed remarks, as her caption read, “I gave you, first major role in your life when no one wants to associate with you because of your ugly looks and obesity.

“Spent my own hard-earned money on an ingrate like you. All you could pay me back with is to call me Animal? Haaa! ENIOLA! Almighty God will judge you insha Allah. You have started what you can finish and I promise you, you must collect.”

In a subsequent social media post, Bakare seemed to throw further shade at Badmus, sharing photos of her premiere outfit alongside a cryptic caption: “Even person we do surgery self no near this beauty 1/ Oni Gastric bypass isonu.”

This controversy has since garnered reactions from netizens, with some linking Eniola Ajao's movie premiere as an event that breeds drama, citing Bobrisky's controversy.
