Former Big Brother Naija housemate Aderombi Adedayo Martin popularly known as Dee-One has praised Nigerian social media influencer Blessing Okoro also known as Blessing CEO for her recent reaction towards his interview with TVC.
During the interview which aired on Saturday, February 15, Dee-One addressed his ongoing dispute with public figure VeryDarkMan, highlighting concerns about his alleged hypocrisy and sexual identity.
Following Blessing CEO’s remarks on the interview, Dee-One took to his social media page (@DeeoneComedian) on Sunday, February 16, to express his gratitude.
He wrote: “Blessing CEO is too smart. By the way She knows her onions. I will talk about her one day and the secret respect I have for her.”
Earlier, Blessing CEO had shared her thoughts on the controversy surrounding Dee-One’s podcast appearance via her Instagram page @officialblessingceo.
She acknowledged that, despite her initial reservations, Dee-One had spoken candidly about his concerns. Commending him for his intelligence, she encouraged him to continue speaking his truth.
However, she advised him to shift focus to other topics, noting that VeryDarkMan’s supporters often defend him, regardless of his actions.
In her reflections, Blessing CEO stated,
“I watched Dee-One on TVC, and I want to thank them for giving him the platform. I enjoyed the content, but I want to address something. Deeone mentioned that he is using this opportunity to correct VeryDarkMan’s actions and chose Nedu’s podcast to ensure people take him seriously. “However, in your pursuit, remember that people tend to love who they love, and Nigerians are well aware of who VeryDarkMan is and the truth behind your statements about him.
“When people are fans, they often make excuses for bad behaviour, which is why we see a cycle of the same leaders we complain about.”
She further advised Dee-One, “I suggest saving your energy and time for more productive endeavours.”
Interestingly, Blessing revealed that she was not always a fan of Dee-One and had even blocked him on social media. However, after watching him talk on The Honest Bunch Podcast, she experienced a change of heart.
“The comments during your interview were filled with applause for you. You’ve shown Nigerians that you are not just chasing clout. I appreciate your energy, but remember that Nigerians know the truth, and we can face the consequences of our choices.”
She added, “You are attempting to confront VeryDarkMan regarding his sexuality, but it’s important to note that many prominent figures, even those you’ve called out to help you, identify as gay, and you might be surprised.
“The battle you are fighting should allow these individuals to be who they are, as their private and public identities are ultimately their own business.
“The LGBTQ+ community is strong, and when a man supports a woman, it is clear; when he supports another man, it becomes a powerful force. Be cautious in your approach to avoid being trampled upon.”
