5 times Chidinma Adetshina made a fashion statement at Miss Universe 2024

  • Nwanyi-Njiko National Costume

This is one of the most memorable fashion moments of Chidinma at the Miss Universe 2024. The outfit was created by Abanobi Emmanuel Ifechukwu and Modela Couture. Beyond being a costume for the National costume show at the Miss Universe 2024, the unique outfit pays homage to the unity, strength and heritage of Nigeria. It comprised 10,000 pearls, cowrie shells, feathers, stones, and raffia. The beauty lies in the depth of each element of the outfit. The headpiece symbolised authority and ancestral ties. The staff in Chidinma’s hand represented a symbol of African royalty.

  • Sisi Eko

This is another highlight of Chidinma from the Miss Universe 2024 National Costumes show. The Sisi Eko outfit was designed by Se Adeoye. According to Miss Universe Nigeria, the inspiration behind the outfit pays tribute to Lagos with a hand-painted design of the iconic Third Mainland Bridge and National Theatre. The outfit also represents a symbol of hope, new beginnings, and resilience.

  • Verdant Eclipse Dinner Gown

Creatively designed by Maryam Elisha, the Verdant Eclipse dinner worn by Chidinma at the Miss Universe 2024 Preliminary competition is one for the books. The emerald gown was decorated with over 2 million shimmering sand beads to reflect Nigeria’s elegance and strength. It embodies timeless beauty and the diversity of our culture.

  • Aso ti Awon Itan (Cloth of Stories)

This outfit reflects Chidinma’s journey to the Miss Universe stage. Made with traditional Aso Oke fabrics, the beauty queen revealed that each element showcased her stories, growth, struggles, and triumphs. It also pays homage to her heritage, which is grounded in tradition and cultural pride.

  • Swimsuit appearance

Walking down the runway, Chidinma looked stunning in her swimsuit at the Miss Universe 2024 stage. This was the last unforgettable fashion moment of the beauty who wrote history for Nigeria at the prestigious global pageant.

Chidinma accepts Miss Universe Nigeria’s invitation following Miss South Africa saga

Earlier, TheRadar reported that Nigerian-born South African Chidinma Adetshina accepted the invitation of Miss Universe Nigeria organisers to participate in the 2024 edition of the pageant.

Chidinma had recently withdrawn from the finals of the 2024 Miss South Africa competition after a controversial investigation report about her true nationality surfaced.

In a short video clip posted on August 14 by the Silverbird Group founder, Ben Murray-Bruce, she expressed her gratitude to the Miss Universe Nigeria Organisers.
