Via his official X(formerly Twitter) page on July 29, Burna Boy announced that his new album, which he has yet to name the title, would drop at 21 midnight.
His tweet read, Album dropping 12 am.
The recent announcement has sparked mixed reactions among netizens on social media. Some considered his tweet to be serious as most artistes have been dropping albums back to back this year.
For some, it might be a joke to just trend, while some reassured Burna Boy of their admiration and anticipated the album to be the best of the year.
Burna Boy's last album was his seventh studio album, I Told Them, released in August 2023. If this new album eventually drops, it will be the eighth studio album of the 33-year-old singer.

‘African Giant’ anniversary: Notable milestones achieved by Burna Boy’s album after 5 years
Meanwhile, TheRadar previously reported that derived from Burna Boy’s infamous outburst and self-proclamation ‘African Giant’ his fourth studio album has marked five years since its release.
Burna Boy reportedly first used the phrase to express his displeasure towards Coachella’s organisers, who were said to have written his name in small letters. This contributed to the inspiration of his album title.
