- VeryDarkman berates them for neglecting more deserving citizens who need such assistance
Social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarKMan, has slammed Afrobeats producer Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage and other celebrities for allegedly contributing over N50 million to Bobrisky.
In a now-deleted post, Bobrisky had earlier appreciated some celebrities who came through for him financially while he was in prison.
He mentioned names like Funke Akindele, Moyo Lawal, Eniola Ajao, Niniola, Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, and Tonto Dikeh and the amounts sent by each of them.
In a video trending on X (formerly Twitter), on August 25, VeryDarkMan called out the celebrities for neglecting positive donations to send such an amount of money to Bobrisky.
In his words, “The first thing Wey I first see be say people contribute money for Bobrisky. I dey see the amount. The amount wan near like N100 million. I asked a question. What is that for? What are you people trying to do? Are you trying to encourage crime? Are you trying to encourage gayism in Nigeria, transgender? What are the benefits of giving Bobrisky that money? Are you trying to tell the youths that yes, go and commit a crime and we are always here to support you?
What is the positive impact of giving Bobrisky that money? There are a lot of communities in Nigeria that do not have water. A lot of schools. Children no fit Sidon because them no get chair. I never see Una carry money say okay, we want to go to one community and give it to them but a man Wey dey display how him take dey knack man. They disturb people for Nigeria. A bad example and Una carry money give am.”
Throwing several rhetorical questions, VeryDarkman noted that the action suggests they are promoting homosexuality in the country.
“And you want the government to take you seriously? What are your trying to tell the government? Make una prepare because the kind thing Wey Una dey do go come back for una. You're trying to them that if you are a transgender we dey for you. Do anything Wey you like. What validation are you people trying to see? I can never understand what just happened. I've a lot of respect for everybody on the list.” he added.
