John Mikel Obi speaks on his podcast about Osimhen’s potential transfer to Chelsea.Mikel Obi passionately backs Victor Osimhen’s Chelsea move as fans flood the internet with mixed reactions.
  • John Mikel Obi has urged Chelsea to sign Victor Osimhen, describing the striker as a game-changer who could revive the club’s fortunes.
  • The former midfielder believes the Blues could still seal the deal easily, stating they only need to "pick up the phone" to land the striker.
  • Reactions ranged from support for Osimhen’s signing to doubts over his commitment, with fans emotionally divided over his transfer.

Former Chelsea star John Mikel Obi has reignited the Victor Osimhen transfer buzz with an appeal to the club, but while some fans welcomed his passion, others weren’t convinced, with a few even mocking his motives.

Mikel, speaking on his Obione podcast, expressed disappointment that Chelsea failed to sign Osimhen last summer, blaming it on the club’s inability to meet the striker’s wage demands.

The former Super Eagles captain insisted the club still had a chance to secure the Napoli man, who is currently enjoying a standout loan spell at Turkish champions Galatasaray,

“This guy would change everything, it will be really sad if we don’t get a player who supported us as a kid and wants to play for this football club,” Mikel said.

Mikel added that Osimhen’s drive to break records and win trophies could restore Chelsea to their former glory and that the club’s management could “literally pick the phone up and get him straight in the door.”

Despite Mikel’s enthusiasm, the reception among fans was far from unanimous. Some dismissed the midfielder’s advocacy as an attempt to influence the deal for personal gain.

One user on social media even joked, “Bro really hustling that agent fees,” suggesting that Mikel might be angling for a behind-the-scenes benefit if the deal materialised.
