Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Tinubu, has arrived at Eagle Square to preside over the 2026 National Police Day Grand Parade and Procession.

According to a statement on Tuesday by his media aide, Stanley Nkowcha, Vice President Shettima took the salute from officers on parade as the ceremony commenced.
“Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently taking the salute from officers on parade as the 2026 National Police Day ceremony gets underway,” the statement read.

The event brings together senior government officials, top leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, security chiefs, and officers from across the federation.

The ceremony also pays tribute to fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The formal parade includes officers “lined up in full parade formation” to welcome the Vice President and mark the opening of the event with ceremonial honours.
