Fatimo Agboke, a 19-year-old, reportedly killed her friend Faruk Azeez, 20-year-old with a knife after a fierce argument in Lagos's Ijegun neighbourhood.
Despite being rushed to the hospital around 9:20 PM, the victim, Faruk Azeez, could not survive his injuries and passed away.
Reporting on the event on Monday, September 9, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Benjamin Hundeyin, Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command, revealed that the victim's father contacted the Isheri Oshun Division following a distressing call from a neighbour.

“The complainant from Ijegun informed us that his son, Azeez, had a disagreement with a female friend, Fnatimo Agboke, which escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, Fatimo allegedly stabbed Faruk in the neck with a broken bottle, causing serious injuries,” Hundeyin stated.
Hundeyin further said, “Upon receiving the report, police detectives swiftly responded and arrived at the scene, where they discovered Azeez lying lifeless in a pool of blood with a deep cut on his neck. The body has since been transported to Mainland General Hospital, Yaba, for an autopsy.

The tragic event has left the Ijegun community in shock, as those who knew Azeez, a promising and energetic young man, try to deal with his abrupt and unexpected passing.
SP Hundeyin reported that the suspect, Fatimo Agboke, was quickly detained and is now in police custody. He assured the community that a thorough investigation is ongoing to determine the complete context of the unfortunate event.
Police urge witnesses to assist with investigations
With the investigation still underway, the police have asked anyone with helpful information to step forward and assist.
“This is a deeply unfortunate incident, and we want to reassure the public that justice will be pursued. The suspect is in our custody, and we are investigating all angles to ensure that the truth is uncovered,” Hundeyin added.
Police arrest native doctor who killed client while testing bulletproof charm in Edo
Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that the Edo State Police Command has arrested one Timothy Dauda, a 19-year-old native doctor for allegedly killing his client, Alex Ezekiel, while testing out bulletproof charms.
The Police said the suspect would be prosecuted after concluding the investigation.
