The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin has revealed that the Nigerian Army has handed one 23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye to the police. Adeleye was taken into custody by the Nigerian Army for confessing to the killing of Christianah Idowu, a 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
Hundeyin said the 9 Brigade of the Nigerian Army handed the suspect to the police on Thursday, September 5.
He made this disclosure on his X account, @BenHundeyin on Thursday, September 5 and posted the picture of the suspect in handcuffs.
He posted: “23-year-old Ayomide Adeleye has been handed over to @LagosPoliceNG by 9 Brigade @HQNigerianArmy. The handover took place today, September 5, 2024, at about 1400hrs. Investigation is ongoing.”
Nigerians react to Ayomide Adeleye’s arrest
Many Nigerians urged the police to ensure the suspect and his accomplices face the wrath of the law for their crime. Some advised that the investigation be done well as he might have murdered more than three people. Other people were surprised that he looked good and without bruises in the picture posted by Hundeyin, they asked that he be dealt with severely.

Police investigate trending alleged defilement in Lagos, says victim’s mother not cooperating
Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said an investigation is ongoing in the case of a 14-year-old who was allegedly defiled by her landlord’s son in Lagos.
He also revealed that the victim’s mother is not cooperating with the investigations, as well as everyone on the street where the house is located.
