The National Youth Service Corps has released call-up letters for prospective corps members in the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II mobilisation exercise.
The call-up numbers and deployment details had been uploaded to the NYSC portal in the early hours of Monday, April 20.
Many prospective corps members confirmed that they were able to begin checking their call-up letters and states of deployment, although several users reported difficulty accessing the website because of heavy traffic.
“There is traffic,” one prospective corps member said, describing delays while attempting to log in and check deployment status.
Across social media, many candidates also complained about slow access to the portal, delays in loading pages, and anxiety over where they had been posted for the mandatory national service year.
Prospective corps members can access their call-up letters through the official NYSC portal.
The release of the letters comes only a few days after the scheme announced the timetable for the orientation exercise for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II.
According to a statement signed by NYSC spokesperson, Caroline Embu, the orientation course will begin nationwide on April 22.
“The Orientation Course will commence with reception and registration of Prospective Corps Members on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026, and end at midnight of Friday, 24th April 2026,” the statement read.
The swearing-in ceremony for the prospective corps members is expected to take place on April 24, while the full orientation exercise will continue until May 12.
The scheme also urged corps members to remain safety-conscious during their journeys to camp locations across the country.
“Prospective Corps Members are advised to break their journeys once it’s 6.00 pm… and continue the following morning,” it stated.
The release of the call-up letters marks the final stage of mobilisation as thousands of graduates prepare to begin the compulsory national service programme.
NYSC issues strict name warning ahead of 2026 batch ‘A’ stream II camp
Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) had issued a fresh warning to Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) ahead of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course, stressing that discrepancies in names could prevent registration at camp.
The scheme emphasised that all PCMs must ensure that their names match exactly across all documents, including certificates and the NYSC portal.
According to the statement, even minor inconsistencies such as spelling variations, rearranged names, missing middle names, or additional initials will not be accepted during camp registration.
