The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for his “giant strides” in governance as he nears his second anniversary in office as Governor of Osun State.

In a statement released via its official X handle on Friday, November 22, the PDP leadership highlighted several significant achievements under Adeleke’s administration, with a particular focus on infrastructure development, healthcare reforms, and community empowerment.

“The @OfficialPDPNig Government in Osun State under His Excellency Ademola Adeleke has made significant strides across various sectors since assuming office two years ago,” the party declared.

Earlier on Friday, November 22, it was reported that the Osun State Government had unveiled a series of 16 events to mark the governor’s second year in office, further emphasising the administration’s progress.

The PDP noted that one of the key areas of success has been in infrastructure development, particularly in road construction and rehabilitation. The statement pointed out that over 90 kilometres of intercity roads had been completed across Osun State’s nine federal constituencies, significantly improving connectivity and boosting economic activity across the region.

“This initiative has enhanced the movement of goods and people, benefiting both the state’s economy and its residents,” the PDP remarked, underlining the transformative impact of these projects.

Another area of focus for the Adeleke administration has been grassroots empowerment. The PDP revealed that nearly N389.5 million had been invested in grants aimed at supporting 50 communities and 13 vulnerable groups across the state.

These grants have enabled the implementation of micro-projects tailored to the specific needs of these communities, fostering local development and inclusivity.

“These projects are key to addressing the unique challenges faced by local communities while empowering the most vulnerable groups,” the party added.

In the healthcare sector, Governor Adeleke’s reforms have been hailed as revolutionary. The state’s health insurance scheme, which now includes 23,000 pensioners, has been expanded to ensure broader access to quality healthcare for all citizens, including retired public servants.

The PDP also highlighted the government’s efforts to resolve long-standing pension issues, with N28 billion allocated to pay pension arrears and gratuities owed by previous administrations.

“Governor Adeleke has shown his unwavering commitment to the welfare of pensioners, ensuring timely payments and easing the burden of unpaid entitlements,” the party added.

APC’s Ganduje is plotting disruption in South West - Osun Gov Adeleke alleges

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, accused Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National President of the All Progressives Congress (APC), of attempting to destabilise the South West region and undermine President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.

The accusation followed Ganduje’s comments about “seizing Osun in 2026” after the APC’s victory in the recent Ondo State governorship election.
