- Mixed reactions trail the declaration of the man of God
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has addressed the AI-generated image making rounds on social media, depicting him as an Alhaji, during the first Holy Ghost Night of the new year.
The issue started on December 20, 2024, when an influencer @OurFavOnlineDoc quoted a now-deleted post of Pastor Adeboye’s AI-generated image depicting an Alhaji.
His post reads, "This is all fun and games until a retarded lunatic like you does the exact same thing to the sultan of sokoto and uses AI to wear C&S kerubu sutana for him with purple waist belt and turari isegun. Some of you don’t know where to draw the line, and you can’t take what you dish."
During his ministration at the Holy Ghost Night on January 3, 2025, Pastor Enoch Adeboye addressed individuals who had created an image to mock him. He spoke directly to those responsible, highlighting the negative impact of their actions.
He stated, “I'm sure some of you saw on the internet how some people used AI to generate a picture of me looking like an Alhaji. How many of you saw that one?
“The Lord said mockers will be more louder and aggressive this year than ever before, but unfortunately, Daddy says many of them will not survive this year and I am the one who added unfortunately because God does not want the death of sinners.
“All he wants is that they will repent and live but some of these people have made up their minds that they are not going to repent. It is unfortunate.”
Nigerians react to Adeboye's reaction to his AI-generated image
Here are some reactions below:
@Seanelhadji commented: “This is a clear example of your God fighting for you, no noise, no violence!
But if you have to kill, destroy, annihilate, carry bombs, burn, all in a bid to defend your God in this modern civilization, you need to be really checked!”
@Ovieroskoles commented: “Did he just curse those who mocked him? Doesn’t the bible teach bless and curse not? There is nothing inherently evil about dressing like an Alhaji/Muslim. It is just an Arab attire. If it is both the same God we worship, nothing will happen to those who generated that image.”
@SegunOmosule commented: “It's a disrespect to the elder statesman. We should be cautious about everything beyond the clout chasing.”
@Toluokoro commented: “The image was inconsequential, not addressing it all would have made the situation more inconsequential! However, I understand that he’s a religious institution himself so he had to.”
@Olugbengacool commented: “Who generated that picture needs to be checked lets see if it is going to be unfortunate for him this year.”
“You’re a fool to think you can improve God’s work,” Pastor Adeboye addresses women fond of makeup
Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that Pastor Adeboye addressed women who use makeup are implying that God's creation of them was flawed.
According to the Pastor, God did a remarkable job creating humans, and the use of makeup by women reflects disbelief in His perfection. Adeboye further said when you begin to paint and you think you can improve on what God has already done, you are a fool
