- One year after the death of the late singer Mohbad, his wife Wunmi allegedly agreed to carry a DNA test
- In the heat of Mohbad’s death earlier, there was a controversial demand both from family and netizens for a DNA test over allegations Wunmi’s infidelity
- Wunmi’s lawyer revealed that Mohbad has voluntarily decided to take the test to protect her son’s dignity and her husband’s legacy
Wunmi Aloba, the wife of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has finally agreed to carry out a DNA test in order to prove the paternity of their son, Liam.
Earlier, Wunmi had made headlines when she said she would not do the DNA test after she initially agreed. She also claimed in the viral Instagram live that it was Mohbad who deflowered her.
This came a month after Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, served a court notice on the pending DNA test application on his son’s wife.
In a newly surfaced interview video on Friday, October 25, Barrister Akingbolu, who is Wunmi’s lawyer in their ongoing court case, disclosed that Wunmi has agreed to do the long-debated DNA test.
Akingbolu said that aside from vindicating Wunmi from several infidelity allegations, the test is also aimed at proving to Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, who is in doubt, that Liam is truly Mohbad’s son.
“Mohbad’s father is using the media to bully the child and going around to say the child has a now leg and all of that. Everybody knows that bow leg is a deficiency of Vitamin C. It doesn't have to be that because I have a bow leg. My child must have a bow leg. So, the cyberbullying was too much for her but now, we have said voluntarily she opted to do the DNA test.” The lawyer explained.
Wunmi’s legal representative also explained that the previous hesitation to do the DNA, despite agreeing initially, was due to the immense pressure following her husband’s death.
He further shared that Wunmi’s decision to proceed with the DNA test without a court mandate was not only an act of compliance but also a move to prove her son’s dignity and late husband’s legacy.
