Abosede, the mother of late Nigerian singer and rapper, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has pleaded with the public against any plans to hold an elaborate remembrance celebration for her son.

Mohbad, who reportedly died on September 12, 2023, would officially mark one year since his demise, and fans seem to look forward to the day to honour the late singer.

In an X (formerly Twitter) video on Wednesday, September 11, Mohbad’s mother was seen standing outside a Lagos court for the continuation of the coroner's inquest into the death of her son.

Expressing herself in Yoruba, she asked the public to accord her family privacy as Mohbad’s remembrance day approached.

Whatever Mohbad’s dad says is the final. We don’t want any elaborate celebration over our son’s remembrance. The best you can do is to pray for him. You all should please leave us alone.

If anyone decides to do anything outside this, he or she is not out for the happiness of our family. I plead in God’s name that they should release us to settle with our family,” she said.

Unravelling the circumstances of Mohbad’s death has remained a lingering controversy with many seeking for justice. Mohbad is best known for his songs Peace, Feel Good and KPP
