Fatai Odunsi, the father of Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake, has confirmed their reconciliation over his accusations of neglect.
Odunsi caused a social media frenzy over the weekend when he called out Asake for ignoring his responsibilities as a son.
According to Odunsi, who has been battling an undisclosed illness, Asake has not been financially supportive to his family despite his fame.
However, in a recent video that surfaced on social media on March 16, Odunsi made a U-turn to confirm that Asake had reached out and his hospital bills were sorted.
In the video, Odunsi expressed pride in his son and showered him prayers to continue excelling in his music career.
Asake settles father’s hospital bills, promises house
Explaining why he had initially called out the singer, he noted that it had been a long time since they last saw each other.
“His mother ought to ask him when he last saw me. That was what got me angry, but we have sorted out all the problems. We are no longer fighting.
“Asake said he will do everything that I want. We have settled, no more problems. They are now looking for a new house that he will buy for me. He has settled everything,” Odunsi said.
Odunsi further revealed that Asake has committed to taking full responsibility for his 11-year-old daughter, Zeenat.
“He has never denied his child, but he has now promised to take full responsibility for the child,” he added.
