  • Peter Okoye of the P-Square music duo finally opened up about their second fall out
  • Peter’s open letter clarified how he wasn't competing with his brother, Paul, whom he claimed discredited him at every slightest opportunity
  • Netizens shared mixed feelings about Peter’s long letter addressing the recent fallout

The feud lingering between renowned twins music duo Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye known as P-Square is no longer news.

After coming together in 2022, the duo fell out again as confirmed by Paul, who claimed Peter called the EFCC to arrest him (Paul).

In a long letter released and signed on his official X (formerly Twitter) page on Monday, August 12, Peter, who has been quiet about their recent fallout shared his opinion on the issue.

He stated that he was not competing with his twin brother but noted that RudeBoy have constantly discredited his contributions to their musical success at every opportunity he got to speak on the fallout.

According to Peter, RudeBoy claimed he is the brain behind all songs the duo are known for, suggesting that he (Peter) had little or no impact.

The letter read in part;

My dear brother Paul, Just like I have told you several times, I am not in any competition with you or anybody else. However, seeing you grant countless interviews where you constantly discredit my efforts in the group that we both created and built together really speaks volumes.

In your recent interviews, you claimed that you wrote and sang 99% of all P-SQUARE songs and discredited me by saying that our song with TI "EjeaJo," which I wrote, was a failure. You went as far as using the YouTube views to discredit me once again.

Every time I have spoken in interviews about P-SQUARE, I have always used "we" and "us" because I saw us as a team. But whenever you speak, it’s always "I" and "me," even when I’m standing right beside you. It’s as if I never existed.

My brother, neither of us is the most talented artist in the world, but you fail to understand that God gave us this talent and even granted us another chance to excel after our last breakup. Instead, you chose to turn the most awarded and decorated music group in Africa into a laughingstock again.”

Peter threw rhetorical questions to Rudeboy asking, Is Rudeboy or Mr P bigger and more successful than P-SQUARE today? Are we individually selling out arenas and stadiums like P-SQUARE used to? Are we topping world music charts with our songs as solo artistes?

Peter, in the letter, further hinted at revealing the details of the EFCC case, which RudeBoy claimed is the reason for their recent separation.

P-Square, comprising Peter and Paul had shared a joint music career until 2017 when things fell apart reportedly as a result of a disagreement between the duo and their manager, Jude Okoye. This led them to go solo changing their names— Paul as Rudeboy while Peter adopted Mr.P.

However, the duo reconciled in 2022, stating that they had put their grievances aside, surprisingly in July, Rudeboy confirmed their second fallout again.
