Popular award-winning Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe suffered a devastating loss as her multi-million naira Lagos home was destroyed by fire on Wednesday, December 4. 

The talented star shared a video on her Instagram page, @realmercyaigbe, revealing the charred remains of what was once her residence. 

The cause of the fire remains unclear, as she has yet to release any official statement about the incident.

However, the actress expressed gratitude to God that no lives were lost in the incident. Although it was a disaster and a devastating situation, she confirmed in her post that no life was lost. 

She captioned the video: “Devastated! Thank God no life was lost! It is well.”

Prior to this unfortunate incident, Mercy Aigbe, who recently won the award for the ‘best supporting actress’ in Best of Nollywood (BON), announced her new cinema movie ‘Thin Line’ which will be premiered and out in cinema on December 13.

Nigerians sympathise with Mercy Aigbe

Following the actress’ post, many colleagues and fans took to social media, sympathising with her and giving her words of encouragement.

“Fire incident will allow me to carry out my wish,” Pastor Oyakhilome reacts to church burning

Meanwhile,TheRadar earlier reported that the founder of LoveWorld Incorporated church, popularly known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, said the fire incident on Sunday, June 23, at the church’s headquarters was not an accident but an opportunity for bigger and better things.

Oyakhilome stated this during the Sunday service of June 23 at the church’s campground in Asese, Ogun State, noting that the fire outbreak would give him the opportunity to do what he had always wished for: transform the outlook of the church building.
