Nollywood actress and film producer Laide Bakare has revealed that she is preparing to walk down the aisle once again, marking what she describes as her first “official” marriage.
The actress made the disclosure during a recent interview with content creator Akin Abolade, where she spoke candidly about her personal life and future plans. According to Bakare, although she has previously been married twice, this forthcoming union holds a special significance for her.
“I will soon be getting married officially for the first time ever,” she stated, sparking curiosity among fans and followers.
While the actress confirmed that wedding preparations are already underway, she chose to keep key details under wraps. She did not reveal the identity of her fiancé, nor did she disclose a date for the ceremony, adding an element of anticipation around the announcement.
Bakare’s relationship history has been widely documented. Her first marriage was to US-based businessman Olumide Okufulure, with whom she shares a daughter, Simi. Following their separation, she entered into a second marriage in 2012 with Mutairu Atanda Orilowo, also known as Alhaji Orilowo. The union produced two sons.
However, the marriage later ended amid controversy. Reports indicated that Orilowo had been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in 2014 over alleged fraudulent activities, prompting Bakare to leave the relationship.
Despite her past experiences, the actress has maintained an open-minded outlook on marriage. In a previous appearance on the Real Life With Aunty Ayo podcast, she remarked that she would be willing to marry up to five times if earlier unions did not succeed.
Her latest announcement suggests a renewed optimism about love and commitment, as she prepares to embark on yet another chapter in her personal life.
