Veteran Nollywood actress and filmmaker Fathia Williams has celebrated the academic feat of her son, Khalid Balogun, who recently graduated from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

The actress, who couldn't hide her joy, shared her excitement as a proud mother whose son graduated with first-class honours.

In a long Instagram post, via her official page, on Tuesday, January 14, Faithia appreciated God for his faithfulness and celebrated her son’s achievement.

Hmm, I'm short of words. My darling son @khalidgram_, I'm overwhelmed with joy and gratitude as I celebrate your incredible achievement. You've worked tirelessly and persevered through the challenges and today, you've emerged with a First Class degree from the University of Lagos’ Creative Department.

Alhamdulillah, my heart is bursting with pride and love for you, my darling son. As you embark on this new journey, I ask that you continue to be guided by faith, courage and determination.

Hey fam, join me in praying for my son’s continued success, happiness and fulfilment. May Allah bless him with wisdom, resilience and prosperity on his path forward,”  Faithia wrote.

“No politics”: Fathia Williams responds to controversies about her upcoming ‘Efunroye’ biopic

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that a few days after Nollywood actress Faithia Willaims teased her new Yoruba epic film, Efunroye:The Unicorn, her move generated a controversial backlash considering the heroine of the film.

The heroine, Efunroye Tinubu, is said to be a powerful female aristocrat. Hailing from Egbaland in the 18th century, Efunroye was politically and economically influential in that era.

Many opposed Faithia Williams’ move to document Efunroye’s story over claims of her preposterous personality as the biggest slave trader of the era.
