The drama took an unexpected turn when Cubana Chiefpriest vowed to secure the release of Speed Darlington, who is currently in police custody.
Speed Darlington was arrested in November last year by the Imo State Police Command for allegedly jumping bail in a case involving Burna Boy. The controversy started when Speed Darlington suggested on social media that Burna Boy's 2021 Grammy win was influenced by his connection to American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Prior to his rearrest in Owerri, Speed Darlington had been moved around various police custody locations, including Lagos and Abuja, before landing in the Inspector-General of Police’s Intelligence Response Team.
However, in a surprising twist, Cubana ChiefPriest has vowed to secure Speed Darlington's immediate release. He took to Instagram, stating, "Tomorrow we come for Akpi Nwamama…Monday is now here. Make we now show power."
The tension between Cubana Chiefpriest and Burna Boy dates back to late last year when Cubana Chiefpriest remarked on Burna Boy’s newly acquired car during a cruise with Davido; “Rolls Royce na water,” implying financial strain.
In a bid to retaliate, Burna Boy slammed him on his Instagram story as ‘Owerri Rick Ross’ and after lots of back and forth. Their feud intensified with Burna Boy allegedly providing $30,000 in financial assistance to a relative of Cubana Chiefpriest and expressing interest in supporting Cubana Chiefpriest's estranged baby mama, further fueling their animosity.

The controversial singer was reportedly arrested following a petition filed by his colleague and Grammy Awarded artiste Burna Boy over alleged defamation for accusing Burna Boy of having intimate ties with embattled popular American rapper Sean Diddy Combs to win his Grammy Award.
