Nigerian actress Biodun Okeowo, famously known as Omoborty, has alleged that she left Nollywood due to sexual pressure from industry marketers.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, she claimed that after rejecting unwanted advances, she was blacklisted and prevented from securing movie roles.
Okeowo revealed that some marketers went as far as instructing producers not to feature her in films and even removed her image from a movie poster despite her being the head actress.
Frustrated by the situation, she said she eventually walked away from acting.
“Marketers were the reason I left the industry after blacklisting me for refusing to remove my panties. They even told producers to stop featuring me in movies and went as far as removing my head from the poster of a film where I played the lead role.
“How many of their weird actions should I even talk about? They did so much damage to my career then that I eventually got tired of acting and walked away by myself.
“I developed so much hatred for a job I once had so much passion for that I began to turn jobs down.
Despite the challenges and pain, the actress, now based in the US, shared that she has emerged stronger. Expressing gratitude for her success, she concluded:
“Story for another day sha. But God will judge all evildoers. Thank God I am a living testimony today! I'm extremely doing well."
Her revelation has sparked debate online, with some fans interpreting her statement as a refusal to take on sex scenes rather than an experience of sexual harassment.
Others, however, commended her for standing her ground and upholding her integrity in the face of industry pressures.
