Ace comedian Bright Okpocha popularly known as Basketmouth is set to release his first-ever produced feature-length film, A Ghetto Love Story, based on a true life story.
The film stars popular Nollywood faces from Chioma Chukwuka to Patience Ozokwor amongst others.
Via his official Instagram post, on Friday, September 13, the 45-year-old popular comedian shared the news with his fans as he teased his first feature film.
“I’m flipping the page to the next chapter of my life and yeah, tough decisions but we are here now. Anyways, guys, I have finally,” Basketmouth said.
Victoria Eze, the screenwriter for the film, interjected to complete Basketmouth’s statement saying, “No, we have finally made our first feature film, A Ghetto Love Story and I am really excited because I wrote the film,” She added.
Following his announcement, fans and colleagues have taken to the comment section to celebrate Basketmouth’s bold decision to make his first film.
With numerous appearances in Nollywood titles including Brotherhood (2023), Wedding Party (2020) and My Flatmates (2016) TV series on Africa Magic, Basketmouth's diversity as a creative is no longer surprising.
In 2021, Basketmouth had released his first short film titled Confession of a Bandit, the highly anticipated film at the time starred him as Agent Gburugburu alongside other comedians like Buchi, Funnybone, and Senator.
First announcement that sparked dating rumours
Meanwhile, the comedian had earlier left fans in suspense on Thursday, September 12, when he posted a rather ‘intimate’ picture of himself and Victoria Eze.
With his caption, “About to step into the next chapter of my life,” Basketmouth sparked dating rumours with the screenwriter as congratulatory messages flooded his comment section.
