With barely two days left to the release of his third album, Lungu Boy, Afrobeats singer Ahmed Ololade, Asake has dropped a single ‘Active’—one of his most anticipated tracks.

The single, which serves as an appetiser to the full meal, is a collaboration between the Afrobeats singer and popular American rapper Travis Scott.

Via his official X (formerly Twitter) page, on August 6, Asake tweeted that Active was now available for the delight of fans.

Active ft @trvisXX Out Now,” he wrote.

Asake, known for Fuji and Amapiano fusion, sampled Raise the Roof, a classic song by Jazzman Olofin and Adewale Ayuba, on his new single Active.

Raise the Roof, a Hip-hop song, was released in 2004 off Jazzman’s Boiling Point album.

Netizens share mixed feelings about Asake’s ‘Active’

Asake’s feature with Travis Scott is speculated to be a move to appeal to the American audience because of the influence of the American rapper.

Aside from that, it is a collaboration that fans were excited to see how the duo could flow seamlessly on the same song.
