With the array of albums that dropped in 2024, Afrobeats singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, is one artiste who got a collaborative spot in notable albums of his colleagues. 

The singer, who is signed under YBNL Nations and Empire Distribution, aside from dropping his third studio album, Lungu Boy, earlier this year, jumped on collaborative projects with other artistes’ albums to exhibit his versatility. 

Asake's music style is known for its distinctiveness and portrays Afrobeats, dynamic street rap pop, fuji music, Afrofusion, and Nigerian pop. 

The exceptional singer, following his record-breaking MMS track, which featured Wizkid, recently got a spot on Wizkid's highly anticipated Morayo album. The tracklist was unveiled by Wizkid on November 18, capturing Asake as the only Nigerian and African artiste on the tracklist. 

Following this, TheRadar spotlighted four Afrobeats albums on which Asake was featured in 2024. From Tems, Ayra Starr, Victony, and Wizkid’s album projects, Asake won a collaborative spot worth recognising.

  • Ayra Starr's ‘The Year I Turned 21’

On her sophomore album, The Year I Turned 21, Ayra Starr teamed with Asake on Goodbye (Warm-Up). The synergy between the duo was beautiful to listen to. The song sends a message to an ex-lover and expresses heartbreak in a mid-bouncy tempo that is far from being sad. 

  • Tems' ‘Born in the Wild’

Asake worked with Grammy nominee Tems on Get it Right, a track that saw them join forces to create a love-inspired masterpiece. Their distinctiveness in vocals and style spiced up the track to make it dynamic. Asake adds a bit of Yoruba here and there while Tems maintains her sonorous R&B tune. 

  • Victony's ‘Stubborn’

On Victony’s Stubborn track off the same album title, Asake and Victony proved their compatibility despite their distinctiveness. The track offers deep sonic tunes and messages that leave on repeat. 

  • Wizkid's ‘Morayo’

Following the release of his anticipated album Morayo tracklist, Afrobeats singer Wizkid unveiled Asake as one of his features on the song Bad Girl. The feature gears an anticipation to replicate the same success as their earlier feature MMS. earlier feature, MMS. Morayo is set to drop on November 22, 2024. 

Charting spree: 15 milestones achieved by Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ so far

Earlier, TheRadar, through the monitoring of Spotify, social media and artiste milestones, compiled a list of milestones and records achieved by Asake’s Lungu Boy so far. 

Lungu Boy is Asake’s third studio 15-track album, a follow-up of his sophomore project, Work of Art. Released under the YBNL Nation and Empire Distribution, it features appearances from Wizkid, Travis Scott, Central Cee, Stormzy and Ludmilla.
