Qing Madi finally drops her no-feature debut album, ‘I Am The Blueprint’
Fast-rising star Qing Madi releases her debut album, ‘I Am The Blueprint’

In an ambitious stride, Afrobeats fast-rising star, Qing Madi has kicked off the 2025 anticipated debut albums train by taking the lead.

Her 13-track no-feature debut album, I Am The Blueprint is audacious—setting the pace for her promising rise in the Nigerian music industry.

Born Chimamanda Chukwuka, the 18-year-old singer earlier expressed what her newly released debut album means to her.

Qing Madi's words, “I am the architect of my own destiny. I am the Blueprint.” is a profound statement to rate herself as a ‘template’ for Nigerian singers.

It also captures her defying courage as an 18-year-old female singer to stand out in a competitive music scene.

Known for her blend of Afrobeats, Pop, R&B and Alte genres, Qing Madi sojourns on a ‘lone’ path to create music the way it ought to be.

This album is my story. The struggles, triumphs and journey. I Am The Blueprint is more than just music, it’s my legacy.” she added.

Qing Madi, since gaining widespread recognition with her 2023 singles See Finish and Ole, has been on the Afrobeats rising star radar. Her audacious debut project proves yet another milestone.

Reviewing Qing Madi’s ‘I Am The Blueprint’ album

The album’s first track begins with a rather ambitious Bucket List of what Qing Madi wishes for. The slow-paced R&B rhythm emphasises on her words more than the tune.

…When I go build that my empire, When I carry Grammy for hand, When I buy mummy mansion,” her words offer bold statements fans might look forward to in years to come.

As her lead singles Akanchawa and Favourite Psycho, which are already making waves, are odes to love. It touches the emotions and butterflies that come with being in love. The constant commitment and reassurance too.

In a world of endless internal battles, Qing Madi’s Pressure track stands out. The introspective anthem resonates with personal struggles with life and relationships. From its catchy lyrics to irresistible rhythm, it is my best track of the album, no doubt.

Gimme Your Love, Garden, Goosebumps and Ali Bomaye explore the dominant theme of love and relationships. A yearning for true love and vulnerability.

From defining an artiste’s niche or propelling their careers, a debut album is no joke. On I Am The Blueprint, Qing Madi is intentional.

It takes a strong belief in one’s potential to pull off a no-feature album in a competitive music scene as Nigeria’s. For what it is worth, her courage is a good template for young rising stars like her.

Qing Madi’s lyrical prowess is one attribute that elevated her debut album. The writing is relatable and rhythmic with depth. Her flawless soprano vocal is commendable too.

However, I Am The Blueprint album missed slightly on its intros. Maybe it's a ‘me’ thing but some tracks require patience to discover that it is a gold mine.

For instance, Songs like Garden and It’s A Game would need one to replay more than once to discover its beauty. For listeners with no patience, they are unskippable.

Owing to her signature soprano tune, some tracks also offered ‘repetitive flow’ instead of exploring versatility. In all, Qing Madi faced her fears squarely on I Am The Blueprint— a daring project by the 18-year-old singer.

Final thoughts on Qing Madi’s debut album

While I Am The Blueprint follows the daring path of Nigerian artistes with no feature debut albums, it feels monotonous intermittently.

Qing Madi’s signature tune is maintained all throughout the album except on notable tracks like Pressure and Damn it All, which took a versatile approach. However, the album is a promising project to further solidify Qing Madi’s musical creativity.

Inspired greatly by the influences of American R&B, French Pop and Afro-Pop, Qing Madi, on I Am The Blueprint, proved that she is special with her signature vocals and songwriting prowess that defies her age.
