Nigerian Afrobeats singer Wizkid has made history on World Billboard Albums Charts with his albums Made in Lagos and Morayo.
Born Ayodeji Balogun, Wizkid has set an unprecedented pace as he became the only African artiste with two albums simultaneously appearing on the chart this week.
In an X (formerly Twitter) post, on Tuesday, March 18, Wizkid’s feat buzzed among fans and the Afrobeats music community, highlighting his influence in the music industry.
His latest studio album, Morayo has now spent a total of 16 weeks on the World Billboard Albums Chart while Made in Lagos has now spent 146 weeks.
This makes Made in Lagos hold the record for the longest-charting African album ever on the Billboard global album chart.
Meanwhile, among conversations around Wizkid’s Made in Lagos new feat, fans are more captivated by the 2020 album’s consistent relevance in over four years.
