Pi Network’s native coin, $Pi, will be listed on major crypto exchanges for trading after its official open mainnet launch on February 20, 2025, as announced by the coin’s developers, popularly called the core team.
A few days ago, the developers announced that all the milestones set for the open mainnet launch had been met, so there would be no further waste of time in proceeding with the launch.
“Pi Network will officially transition to the Open Network period of Mainnet at 8:00AM UTC on February 20, 2025,” a statement on the network’s website stated. “As a result of the hard work and commitment from the entire Pi community over the last six years, the Pi community is taking the enormous next step in achieving the Pi vision of the world’s most inclusive peer-to-peer ecosystem and online experience, fueled by Pi, the native token of Pi Network.”
After the announcement, several crypto exchanges announced they would list $Pi on their platforms for trading simultaneously with its official open mainnet launch.
Crypto exchanges where $Pi will be listed
Just after the core team announced the open mainnet launch date, several major crypto exchanges announced on their social media accounts that they would be listing $Pi for trading.
OKX
OKX was the first exchange to announce its readiness to list the $ Pi coin. Less than five hours after the mainnet migration news broke, OKX posted on its X account that the platform would list the coin for spot trading at 8:00AM UTC on February 20, 2025.
“#OKX will list $PI @PiCoreTeam. $PI/USDT Spot trading will begin at 8:00 AM on February 20 (UTC),” the exchange posted.
The announcement elicited joy from the $Pi community online.
Bitrue
Bitrue has also joined the list of exchanges that would list $Pi coin. “JUST IN: New listing $PI is coming to #Bitrue Spot @PiCoreTeam. $PI/USDT trading starts: 8:00 UTC, Feb 20, 2025. Stay tuned for the $PI deposit contest to win a share of 10,000 USDT prize pool,” the exchange posted on X.
HTX
Another major crypto exchange that will list $Pi is HTX. Just after the announcement from the core team, HTX moved swiftly to prepare for the official listing and announced that it would be delisting the PI IOU coin. All holdings would then be converted to USD. The move was to pave the way for the official listing of $Pi on February 20.
“HTX has delisted $PI and ceased the trading services for the PI/USDT trading pair from 08:00 (UTC) today and will convert affected users' $PI holdings to $USDT. Additionally, HTX will soon support the mainnet launch of Pi Network (PI),” the exchange posted on its X account.
Bitget
Shortly after OKX’s announcement, Bitget joined the list. “Initial Listing - $PI @PiCoreTeam; Pair: PI/USDT; Deposits available: TBD; Trading available: Feb 20, 8:00 AM (UTC),” the exchange posted on X.
MEXC Exchange
Another exchange that has indicated interest in listing $Pi is MEXC Exchange. “#MEXC Initial New Listing Alert! $PI/USDT will be listed in the Innovation Zone on 2025-02-20 08:00 (UTC),” it posted on its X account.
Other not-so-popular exchanges that have announced they would list $Pi coin include Pionex and LBank.
What you should know about $Pi listing
Upon listing, $Pi may not be readily available in all parts of the world. This is because the core team has instructed exchanges to adopt what it calls isolated listing, which means that some countries where pioneers participated in mining the coin may not be allowed access.
With the launch of the Open Network, the layer-1 Pi blockchain gains an important new feature: external connectivity. As a result, Pi can connect to external systems in a secure environment, expanding business and opportunities.
By moving to Open Network, $Pi will also have the ability to interact with other compatible networks and systems and establish an external connection to the Mainnet blockchain. This will increase Pi's usefulness and reach by enabling Pioneers to conduct transactions outside of the Pi ecosystem.
Real reasons EFCC suddenly dropped charges against detained Binance exec Gambaryan
Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that the federal high court in Abuja discharged Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan, who had been detained in Nigeria since February 2024.
Gambaryan was standing trial on charges related to the money laundering perpetrated on the Binance crypto exchange. Officials said bad actors used the platform to launder over $35 million. Gambaryan is a US citizen and, until his detention, was head of financial crime compliance at Binance.
